PVD, an acronym for Physical Vapour Deposition, gives objects exquisite colors and shades. This process occurs through the deposition of metallic particles via vaporization in a vacuum chamber, creating a coating that bonds at an atomic level to the stainless steel substrate. This treatment increases the material's hardness and resistance to wear from friction and corrosion, preventing the formation of rust or oxides. Thanks to the use of non-toxic materials like titanium and zirconium, PVD is also used in the biomedical field, such as for scalpels and surgical blades.
The monoblock knife is made as a single piece of steel. Unlike the hollow-handled knife, which is composed of two parts, the monoblock has no interruptions between the handle and the blade. When holding this type of knife, one feels a pleasant sensation of weight and solidity.
