Rothschild Birds, one of the Best Known Herend pattern, takes its name from the important baronial Rothschild family. The RO main elements are two Bird with a Golden Necklace (there are twelve variants of the couple of birds). This pattern is ispired to a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her viennese residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw some birds playing with it in a tree.
