The design of this piece, very rare, is the work of Marie Claude Lalique and dates back to 1989.
Created to be the companion of the Bamara Lion, the name Simba derives from an African dialect.
It seems as if on the verge of getting up, perhaps awakened by the companion, and appears both provocative and graceful.
The play of light and shadow in this sculpture in satin crystal animates the powerful musculature of the animal.
